But here's where it gets controversial... The show's format is based on a Belgian concept, created by Geronimo and distributed by Be-Entertainment. As part of a partnership between NBCUniversal and the BBC, the BBC also produced its own version, although its future is uncertain.

Contestants must solve puzzles and overcome obstacles to uncover their mystery location.
